My Modelling Journey

JossieAyame
July 21, 2016

I did my first shoot in 2011. I was shy, awkward with posing and didn’t really know what I was doing. I’ve come a long way since then! I don’t shoot as often as I would like to due to time constraints, but I’d like to share some photos of how I have evolved in the past few years.

2011
I did my first photoshoot at the end of 2011. A friend was doing a shoot for fun and said I could tag along. I was super insecure but luckily the photographer helped a lot. Sadly back then I didn’t really know that you should look at the quality of photographers’ work so I shot with anyone who would shoot me after the first shoot.

2012
This year I mostly moved away from the alternative stuff to try mainstream modelling, because photographers liked my look and were willing to pay me for commercial stuff. I absolutely hated it and am not proud of it, but I made some good money from it. I did however do a few awesome alternative shoots in this year too.

2013
This was probably the year that I did the most shoots out of my entire modelling journey – a good mix between good commercial and alternative work. I joined a commercial agency, but never got any work through them. I started developing and refining my modelling style in this year, moving away from the commercial work. Towards the end of the year I started being more selective about who I shoot with as I started building a name for myself.

2014
In 2014 I also did very many shoots and decided to start playing around with my look – abandoning the plan to make money off mainstream modelling entirely to rather be true to myself. This was the best decision I have ever made. I started doing some more experimental concepts and working with even better photographers.

2015
In 2015 I decided to stop messing around and take my modelling more seriously, only shooting with a select few photographers due to time constraints and focussing on only producing the best quality work. Even though I didn’t shoot a lot, the few shoots I did do were all some of my best work to date.

2016
This brings us to the current year! I haven’t done many shoots due to time constraints and health problems, but I am focussing on only working on shoots with interesting or unusual concepts. I know that in the coming months I will have lots more work to show you but here is some of what I have done so far!

I hope you have enjoyed reading about my modelling journey. Until next time!

max ,
Ive seen a lot of models and shootings in life but your transformation is something different. Probably bacause u can use the costume and enviroment to morph better. Dont avoid mainstream shootings either, becouse u make them less mainstream. Dedicate more time for this cause...
